enviMV - Network for Environmental Technologies from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
enviMV represents environmental technologies and the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The network was founded in Rostock in 2008 and integrates companies, research institutions and public authorities.
Since 2014, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has been able to supply 100 percent of its energy from renewable sources, making it the first German state to do so.
As an association, enviMV represents the interests of the industry and develops projects for the utilization of waste and renewable energies together with its members. This includes waste-to-energy, energy efficiency, engineering services, hydrogen production, automation, biogas plants and environmental education.
The cooperation mainly focuses on emerging countries, where the majority of waste is still landfilled and the material and energy recovery can be significantly increased with products and services from Germany.
To implement the projects, suitable funding programs are selected and the companies are supported in applying for, organizing and settling the grants.
The network also organizes specialist events such as the annual Forum Kraftwerke Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and, together with the University of Rostock, the Dialog Abfallwirtschaft (Waste Management Dialogue) every two years, as well as the sponsored joint stand at IFAT, the world’s flagship trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management in Munich.
In the southern Baltic region, enviMV is engaged in the South Baltic Cleantech Network for cooperation with partners from Sweden, Lithuania and Poland.
